The Berlin Recycling Volleys react to their rollercoaster-ride during the ongoing 2017/18 season and release their current Headcoach Luke Reynolds, taking effect immediately. Until the end of the season, Stelian Mosculescu will take the responsibility for coaching the team. He will already be present for the first practice session this Monday afternoon and also takes place on the bench for the CEV Champions League match vs  defending champion Zenit KAZAN this Wednesday  (14. Having already lost 8 out of 21 matches, the current BR Volleys-season strays far from satisfaction. Additionally, no positive progess was clearly recognisable, so that the club management saw themselves forced to act. Manager Kaweh Niroomand explains: „We did not show any consistency so far in this season. Adding to the mediocre results, there was no improvement in the game-philosophy visable, although the fundamental problems were realized and discussed. Unfortunately, the Coach was not able to give the much-needed impulse.“ Niroomand also adds: „It has been a brave decision to give a young Coach like Luke Reynolds a chance to prove himself. And without a doubt – he gave his best. However, to retain our season-goals in the National Championship and CEV Champions League, we did have to make a move. We wish Luke wholeheartedly all the best and we are convinced, that he will make his way as Volleyball-Coach.“

His successor, Stelian Moculescu is a well-known, successful and experienced coach that declined severals offers in the past 1,5 years after his farewall from VfB Friedrichshafen. He remembers the special atmosphere in Berlin and is looking forward to the new challenge. Kaweh Niroomand states, that Moculescu posesses an incredible résumé, Volleyball-Knowledge and authority, which makes him the perfect fit as new BR Volleys Headcoach. The Romanian native should be familiar to every German and European Volleyball-Fan, coaching VfB Friedrichshafen from 1997 to 2016, claiming 18 National Championships, 19 National Cup-Victories and even winning the CEV Champions League in 2007. Until last, he functioned as the Headcoach of the Austrian Beachvolleyball-Nationalteam.
